Moodboard: Spring into summer with garden-inspired home decor

Green Doors Home is inspired by the colors and textures of everyday life. Color is a primary lens for me, whether it's in deciding on an outfit, or picking out bed linens, or plating a meal.
Urban graffiti, art history, and cozy keepsakes are all reflected in the books, trinkets, and materials I pick up near and far, and inevitably infuse into the items I curate for the shop here.
Mixing the mundane with the elegant, plus a deep reverence for nature, is how I approach the world of Green Doors.
Garden-inspired home decor moodboard
The trees are fully leafed-out, and the gardens are in full flower. Farmstands are beginning to overspill with berries and seasonal produce.
This summer solstice moodboard is an ode to the riot of color that now appears, everywhere you turn.
Delicate pastels, assertive pinks, every shade of green tumble together.
Feathers, branches, and petals swirl across every surface, bringing nature indoors with garden-inspired home decor.
Earthy materials, grounding textiles, and reflective surfaces add tactile interest.
This time, I'm also including some of the supplier samples I've curated from Swatchbox, which has been such a great resource to help me with inspiration and research. Check them out if you're in the home trades!

At this turning point of seasons, we're celebrating growth and dreaming of abundance and light.

Pink tile
These tiles from Emser pick up the pink flowers in the wallpaper so perfectly. The tonal pinks signal an artisanal approach, while the high gloss delivers the glam.
Teal fabric
Grounding the airy colors and fanciful wallpaper is Opuzen's Perry Wool in the Water colorway. I find this deep teal so dreamy and calming, and surprisingly versatile. Perry is a 10 oz. Italian-woven wool blend for upholstery. Find the specs and a showroom, here.
Tree-of-life wood block
This decommissioned woodblock, handcarved in India and used for printing textiles, was a gift from a dear friend who apprenticed in India for her yoga teacher training. Find similar here.
Painted cement paperweight
This "paperweight" is really a chip of cement that flaked off the wall of the erstwhile Bethel Cinema, my favorite indie movie theater and a frequent haunt when I lived in Fairfield County. It's an interesting shape, and I love the layers of paint colors peeking through from multiple wall murals of the years.
Wallpaper tile
Chinoiserie has been a strong decor trend revived in the past few years. Who wouldn't want to bring nature inside, in the guise of stylized flowers and feathered friends, with drenched colors and a touch of metallic sheen? If you know where this removable wallpaper tile is from, no you don't. 😉
